Dr. Edwards completed medical school at the University of the West Indies in Jamaica in 2008 before going on to complete an internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship at Rutgers University/Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in New Jersey in 2017. Dr. Edwards was inspired to become a physician after watching a television show called "The Operation" when she was ten. "Watching real surgeries unfold on screen, I remember feeling amazed - not just by the science, but by the trust and care involved. That curiosity stayed with me and eventually led me to medicine, " Dr. Edwards says. Her patient care philosophy is built on trust, empathy and education. "I believe patients do best when they feel heard and understand their health, " Dr. Edwards says. "My priority is to provide evidence-based care while having meaningful conversations with my patients." Dr. Edwards is married with two children and they have an energetic poodle.
